Dear Students and Parents,

Recognizing that millions of children and families in the U.S. face long-term health and social challenges as a consequence of childhood obesity, Sodexo recently joined the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) to announce new commitments to battle this epidemic.

Sodexo made six commitments to PHA which include two that are especially important for our K-12 students:

• By 2016, 90% of our K-12 schools will implement new programs to increase the selection of healthier lunch options. .
• By 2018, we will serve 17 million additional free breakfasts to our K-12 students.

Sodexo currently serves 2 million healthy and delicious meals per day based on the USDA’s nutrition guidelines so that students are engaged and ready to learn in school.

PHA works with the private sector and First Lady Michelle Obama, PHA Honorary Chair, to garner meaningful commitments to help end the childhood obesity crisis. Its more than 60 partners work to make healthier choices more accessible and affordable for busy parents and families.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Please email us anytime with questions, comments or suggestions about how we can improve your students’ dining experience.
